December 2007 December 26, 2007 First Annual There Is Hope With Help/Engine 34/Medic 36 Toy Drive The Toy Drive was able to generate support and give a wonderful Christmas to approximately 55 children in the 28th & Thompson Street area. Each received a toy, winter hat and gloves. A Big Thank you goes out to all involved, Lt. Monica Carterfor her leadership in making this a success!Monthly Mentoring of Certified young men 13-17 at the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center. January 2007 Derrick A. Reed received the "Knight of the Year" award presented by Martin A.Dickerson Council #15, sponsored by Sheba Lodge #7, Prince Hall Grand Lodge of PA. The award is given to the Knight of Pythagoras member, a "Sir Knight", that demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities throughout the year. Derrick is a member of this fine youth organization. This young man, under the mentoring of There Is Hope With Help, has demonstrated excellence in all areas of his life. He continues to improve and benefit from his mentor/mentee relationship and his future is limitless. November 2006 Men's College Basketball Scrimmage St. Joseph's University vs. Niagra University The Hawks are preparing for battle in the Atlantic 10 conference. They looked impressive and we wish them good luck on a successful season! Time for dinner after the game at our favorite restaurant. We sat back, we ate and enjoyed watching football for the the rest of the evening Men's College Basketball Game Harcum College vs. Camden County Community College The Bears spanked Camden at their home opener on the mainline 98-69! The Men's basketball program barely three years old is getting started on the right track. Under the guidance of Coach Kelly and teachings of Coach Dilou Daniels, the Bears look like the team to beat! Thanks Coach Daniels and we look forward to attending more games. After the game we headed to a local fast food joint. Burgers and fries for everyone!
